We acquired our first German Shorthair in 1993.  Little did we know how much our shorthair was capable of until we became involved in NAVHDA.    Our NAVHDA resume includes writing video/book reviews and articles and serving on the VHD Magazine staff in various capacities from 1995 to 2004. In addition, We are both NAVHDA Senior Judges.    While we try to save as much vacation time as we can to wild bird hunt, many of our vacation days are used for training our personal dogs or NAVHDA judging.  We have hunted in Northern Illinois, Southern Illinois, Iowa and North Dakota pursuing woodies, geese, huns, sharpies, quail and pheasants.    We spend a majority of our spring and summer evenings at a local hunt club field training and weekend trips to Milwaukee, Madison and New Richmond for water work.     We are truly blessed with the friendships we have acquired through our dog activities.
