Big. In fact, there is nothing small about Deuce. His personality is larger than life, yet, remains a very calm and mild mannered house dog.
Presence, style and confidence are the hallmarks of Deuce. Exciting. Watching him move thru the field and hit a back as hard as he'll hit a point puts a smile on my face every time.
He’s not without an occasional puppy-spaz to lighten the mood if things get too serious. I can liken Deuce to a roller-coaster ride. We've had our ups and downs, I don't always know what’s coming, but know that I want to keep going to see what’s around the next corner. Deuce is out of INT CH VC Shooting Starr's Sharp Shooter MH x Sundance Jewel. ![]() |

Twister is all that his name implies - a whirlwind of excitement. Always
searching like there's no tomorrow. He'll get carried away and make a 300 yard
cast forgetting that we are not "right behind him" and then with a quick glance
over his shoulder, he will join up with us without hesitation. His backing came
naturally and are as intense as his points.
Twister's water search is equally as energetic as his field. In the blind, he patiently waits and watches the sky and has been known to exit the blind a bit too quickly knocking over whatever or whomever is in his path. His determination is quite evident. Clyde Vetter successfully handled this dog to a Utility Prize I with the maximum score of 204 points, and a maximum score of 200 points for his Versatile Champion title. Twister is out of VC Intl CH Sharp Shooter's Prairie Dancer, MH x VC Sharp Shooter's Annie Oakley, MH. From a NAVHDA NA and UT Breeder Award Litter. |

Wiley's desire is on constant overdrive. His speed is fast; running far
and wide. Sometimes his desire overrides his training, but a quick
reminder is all that is required to refresh his memory. Power, style and
enthusiasm are his most prominent traits, with a bit of bedlam thrown in for
good measure.
Along with being a very affectionate lap dog, Wiley's qualities include being a great duck dog, a natural. From day one, he searched like a pro with very little training. And he's a phenomenal pheasant dog. On our past hunting trips to Iowa, he has been our pheasant finding machine. Wiley is out of VC Jacob VD Westwind, MH x VC Tess Von Klana Spirit, MH |

How lucky was I to own such a talented dog with a personality to match. From a young pup and through his short testing life, Spanky never tired of training. A Utility Prize I and AKC Master Hunter by the time he was two. At three and a half he earned his Versatile Champion title. He spoiled me and set the bar quite high for the other dogs.
We guided with him quite often at the local hunt club and at 11 years old he still would come bounding out of the truck barking like there’s no tomorrow. While waiting for ducks in the cattails, he was patient (and quiet) - eyes never leaving the sky. He retrieved a number of ducks and rabbits and pheasants that numbered in the hundreds. Although I wasn’t thrilled when he’d bring me back something very dead that he had found while hunting I always took it as he was so proud to bring me his latest find. Although the following trait did not surface until after he was retired from testing (thank god), if you missed a bird he would come up to you and give a couple of barks and then go off hunting. A warning from Spanky not to miss again. Well, if you were unfortunate enough to have missed twice in a row he would come up to you, read you the riot act, turn around, kick some dirt at you and then saunter off. A character indeed. It was a common thing for Spanky to grab a pile of birds in his mouth and proceed to show his talent to all those around. Who would have ever thought a dog could get half a dozen or so chuckars in his mouth. At 12-1/2 it was a tremendous loss. Spanky did everything I asked of him. What more could I want? Maybe a few more years... |
